Interjú Tony Addonával!

Cowbells: What is your first memory about football? – Mi az első emléked a footballról? 

Tony: My first memory of football was when I started to play the game as a young child.  I was about 13 years old when I first remember playing football.  I was a fairly heavy kid and the first position I played was offensive line.

Az első emlékem a focival kapcsolatban gyermekkoromból van, amikor játszani kezdtem. Nagyjából 13 éves lehettem ekkor. Elég nagydarab gyerek voltam, úgyhogy a támadófalban kaptam helyet.

Cowbells: Did you know anything about us or the HFL before? – Tudtál e valamit rólunk vagy a HFL-ről (mielőtt megkerestünk)?

Tony: No, I did not know anything about the HFL before.  It was thanks to Coach Andre Bynoe that told me about the league and the Cowbells.

Nem, nem tudtam korábban semmit a ligáról. Először Andre beszélt nekem róla és a Cowbellsről.

Cowbells: What motivated you to help us out? – Mi motivált, hogy segíts nekünk?

Tony: Well the main reason that I came to coach the Cowbells was because Coach Andre reached out to me and asked me to come and help the Cowbells.  Coach Karim also was very instrumental in reaching out to me and encouraging me to come and help them.

A fő oka annak, hogy ide jöttem Andre volt. Ő hívott fel és kért meg, hogy segítsek a csapatnak. Karimnak is jelentős szerepe volt a megkeresésemben és megkért, hogy csatlakozzak hozzájuk.

Cowbells: You had a chance to see behind scenes here, what was your first impression? – Volt esélyed benézni a kulisszák mögé, mik az első benyomásaid?

Tony: My first impression is that the Cowbells are a very good competitive team and obviously having won the HFL Championship last season definitely shows that they are a team that is skilled and know how to win.  Like most teams in Europe one of the main problems is one of depth, by that I mean that the starters are very good but then the second team players are less skilled.  That is something that I experienced as well in Italy.

Az első benyomásom az, hogy a Cowbells egy nagyon jó, versenyképes csapat. Mivel előző évben megnyerték a bajnokságot jól mutatja, hogy a csapat jól képzett és tudja hogyan is kell nyerni. Mint a legtöbb európai csapatban a legnagyobb kihívás a csapat mélysége, ezalatt azt értem, hogy a kezdő játékosok nagyon jók azonban nem sok technikás csere játékos. Hasonlókat tapasztaltam Olaszországban is.

Cowbells: What are the biggest challenges when it comes to teach us? – Melyek a legnagyobb kihívások, amikor tanítasz minket?

Tony: Probably one of the first things that comes to mind is the language and my communication with the players.  I think they understand but obviously sometimes things get lost in translation.  Trying to change bad habits in the way they do things is also another challenge.  You are trying to change motor patterns that players have been used to for some time now and that is always difficult to do.

Valószínűleg a nyelv és a játékosokkal való hatékony kommunikáció. Javarészt megértik, amit mondok, de természetesen akadnak dolgok, amik elvesznek a fordításban. Változtatni azokon a berögzült rossz technikai szokásokon szintén egy kihívás. Ha megpróbálsz olyan berögzült dolgokon változtatni, ami mára motorikussá vált sosem lesz egyszerű.

Cowbells: Do you have a favorite coach or player who inspired you? – Van kedvenc edződ vagy játékosod, aki inspirál (a munkádban)?

Tony: I can’t say that I have had one person who has inspired me, I have more of a collection of actions and thoughts from a variety of coaches that I have observed and incorporated in my coaching that have shaped my coaching philosophy.

Nem tudom azt mondani, hogy van egy konkrét személy, aki inspirált volna, sokkal inkább egy elegye különböző tetteknek és gondolatoknak. Olyan edzőktől, akiket figyeltem és beépítettem a saját mentalitásomba, ez formálta az edzői stílusomat.

Cowbells: Did you have a chance to try hungarian dishes? Any favourites? – Kipróbáltál már magyar ételeket? Van esetleg kedvenced?

Tony: I have tried some and my favorite dish is the goulash.

Néhányát már volt szerencsém kipróbálni, a kedvencem a gulyás!
